Transforming Education at Laker Memorial School
At the Uganda Kitgum Education Foundation, we believe that every child deserves access to quality education in a safe and inspiring environment. In 2023 and 2024, thanks to the generous support of our donors and partners, we successfully financed and completed the renovation of classrooms, the renewal of roofs, and the improvement of the playyard at Laker Memorial School in Kitgum, Uganda.
A Brighter Future for Students
Laker Memorial School has long been a pillar of education in the Kitgum region, but time and harsh weather had taken a toll on its infrastructure. Leaking roofs, deteriorating classrooms, and an unusable playground made learning conditions challenging. Through our renovation efforts, we have:
✅ Rebuilt and strengthened classroom structures for a more secure learning environment.
✅ Renewed the school’s roofs, ensuring protection from heavy rains and extreme sun.
✅ Upgraded the playyard, giving children a safe space for recreation and social development.
The Impact
These improvements have enhanced the learning experience for hundreds of students, providing them with a more comfortable and motivating place to grow, learn, and dream. A safe and welcoming school environment directly contributes to better attendance, engagement, and academic performance.
